Pho vs. Ramen: Which Noodle Soup Should You Order?

Two of the most-searched noodle soups in the country, side by side — and why we serve both on the same menu.

Pho and ramen get compared constantly, and we serve both, so it's a question we hear a lot at the table: what's actually the difference, and which one should you order tonight?

The broth

Our pho broth is beef-bone based, simmered 24 hours with charred onion and warm spices — it's clear, light, and slightly sweet. Our ramen broth is a richer, made-from-scratch beef broth slow-cooked for 36 hours, giving it more body and a deeper, more savory finish. If you want something lighter, go pho. If you want something heartier and more filling, go ramen.

The noodles and toppings

Pho uses flat rice noodles with red onion, scallions, and cilantro on the side, letting you season the bowl yourself with lime, chili, or hoisin. Our ramen comes with corn, broccoli, bamboo, and a ramen egg already built into the bowl, so it's less DIY and more ready-to-eat as served.

Our take

Both are available with chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp. If it's your first visit, we usually point newcomers to pho first since it showcases the 24-hour broth that the restaurant is known for — but on a cold night, our 36-hour beef ramen is the better bowl for a heavier appetite.

Both noodle soups are on our menu for lunch and dinner, seven days a week — come try them side by side and decide for yourself.
